Not quite? Just keep on scrolling for more information
Bookings are typically for 3 hours of music which we break into two 1.5 hour sets with a 30 min break in between. We will need time before the event to set up so we are ready to boogie by the time your guests arrive.
Consultation / customization
We don't want to be a one-size-fits-all band. An in-person consultation helps us get to know each other so that we can provide a musical experience catered to your needs. When we meet we will talk about the day-of details: set-up, schedule, and all that jazz. And then the exciting stuff: SET LIST! A few special song requests are always welcomed; if it's not on our list, we'll learn it! We think we know which songs will get your guests on their feet but if you know a particular song will light up the dance floor, we want to play it!
Q. How Long do you play for?
A. We can be flexible here but typically like to stick with two sets of 1.5 hours with a 30min break in between. That way people can have a little break to have a snack or hydrate as they get ready for round two.
Q. Can We pick the songs you play? Will you learn a new song?
A. Your input is a huge source of inspiration and direction as we create the set list for your event. We welcome suggestions and will use our expertise to match those suggestions as best as we can. And if there is a special song that means something to you, how could we say no? Our bandleader Dean writes all the arrangements himself so adding songs to the repertoire is definitely a possibility!
Q. How much space do you need?
A. The videos above provide a sense of the space we occupy (without all the recording gear of course), about 16' x 12' of space.
Q. do you need a stage?
A. Playing on stages is always fun but not necessary. A stage is a nice way for the non-dancers at your party to still see and enjoy the band. However we are happy to play on or off a stage!
Q. when do you set up and how long does it take?
A. Load in, set up, and sound check usually takes about 2 hours in advance of your guests arriving. We will work out those details with you and the venue. Please note once our gear is set up it cannot be moved.
Q. what happens in between sets? Do you provide background music for dinner?
A. We provide playlists of Jazz, R&B, and Pop during dinner and in-between sets.
Q. Can we use your microphone for speeches?
A. Yes. There are a couple ways we can do this. Prior to the event, we can show your planner, day-of-coordinator, or trusting friend how to turn on the mic and fade the background music up and down. Or you can hire our sound technician for the duration of your dinner to take care of all that for you.
Q. Do we need to provide dinner for the band?
A. It depends on your booking arrangement. If you have the band starting after dinner then you don't need to provide dinner. But if you have the sound tech or anyone else staying on through dinner then we kindly ask for a meal to be provided. We are always grateful for access to water as we need to stay hydrated to keep the party going!
